Abstract

The recognition of a relationship between work and health is not new, but arguably the health and wellbeing agenda, and its linkages to work, has been relatively neglected – until recent years. However, despite this new recognition and interest, globally, workplace health remains a significant public health challenge, requiring concerted action to achieve maximum impact across the whole of society. This article will provide an insight into current strategies, policies and initiatives in this field, both in England and in the wider European context, highlighting their potential for promoting health and wellbeing within the population and, in particular, for men.
